Copyright and Licensing

Organisations, including schools and drama clubs, have a legal obligation to comply with copyright law,
information about which can be found below and at www.copyrightandschools.org.
We will gladly assist with any queries sent to info@peterparrotproductions.com, also.
The use and reproduction of published material is permitted under schools licences issued by CCLI, CLA, PMLL, PPL and PRS. Most UK schools, state and private, are licensed by all of these bodies through umbrella organisations, such as local authorities and devolved governments.

-
Photocopies* and projections of scripts and other non-musical materials should be reported to the CLA.
-
Performances of any Peter Parrot Publishing song, other than in assemblies or during your licensed performance or rehearsal of one of our productions, should be reported to the PRS.
-
Use of Peter Parrot Productions recordings, such as our backing tracks, in an extra-curricular setting, (e.g. a school fair) other than during your licensed performance/rehearsal of one of our productions, should be reported to the PPL.
*Copies in excess of the two permitted under your Annual Performing and Recording License (see below).

Performing and Recording Licence
You require a performing license to perform a musical or nativity to anyone other than pupils or staff. This applies even if you are not charging for entry. You require a separate licence for each Peter Parrot title you purchase.
Your school PRS licence does not cover musicals or nativities, nor does registering individual songs with CCLI (which should nevertheless be undertaken if songs are sung within assemblies or times of common worship).
For ease, an Annual Performing and Recording License, valid for a period of 12 months commencing on your date of purchase, is included with the sale of every Peter Parrot production.
The license confers on you the right to:
-
Perform the musical or nativity to an audience any number of times.
-
Play and/or project the audio tracks and/or lyric videos during full performances of the production and in rehearsals.*
-
Share downloaded materials on your organisation's intranet or pupil/parent portal.
-
Make and distribute, on physical media and online (including on sites accessible to all internet users), audio and video recordings of your performances. We kindly ask that you email links to your recordings to info@peterparrotproductions.com.
-
Make two prints/copies of each page of the Teacher Book and sheet music.**
* Performances of Peter Parrot songs or use of our tracks outside of the aforementioned contexts must be reported to the PPL or PRS.
**Additional copies must be reported to the CCLI, CLA or PMLL in line with the guidance above.
